Mr. John Egenemba Anyanwu, was born on August 11, 1954, in Ogbe, Ahiara, Imo State. He is an indigene of Imo State, Nigeria. He is happiliy married and blessed with

He had his primary education at  St. Matthias School, Aguneze, and proceeded to Paternoster Secondary School, Ekwerazu, both in Ahiazu-Mbaise. He then proceeded to the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, for his tertiary education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication.

Mr. Anyanwu has had a stint in both the teaching and journalism professions before he joined the Federal Civil Service in 1993 as a Chief Personnel Officer. He was immediately appointed Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, a position he held until 1999. Mr. Anyanwu was deployed to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in 2000 and held various positions including the post of Co- chairman, Task Force on the Clearance of 5000 Outstanding Pension Files. He has since 2003 worked in various Ministries. They include Ministry of Interior, Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Federal Ministry of Aviation, NEPAD and currently Ministry of Defence as Director, Human Resource Management Department. Mr. Anyanwu was the first officer to be deployed to the newly created Para Military Department in the Ministry of Interior where, among other duties, he served as the Secretary of the Inter- Ministerial Committee on Prison Reform and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Anyanwu is the recipient of many awards which include Fellow of Corporate Administration Institute (FCAI). He has also been listed in Who?s Who in Igbo land. The Officer has won awards such as the Best News Editor and the most Labour-Friendly Management Staff in the Imo Broadcasting 
Corporation and the Federal Ministry of Aviation respectively.

He has attended several local and Intentional Management Courses/Conferences and is widely traveled. He has as his hobbies  reading, creative writing and humanitarianism.
