Biography of Muhammad Adamu Aliero

Muhammad Adamu Aliero was born on January 1, 1957. He is a native of Aliero in Aliero Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Adamu attended Islamic school where he had his earliest education

experience. He had his elementary education at Aliero Town Planning School, after which he attended the Government Secondary School in Koko and graduated in 1976.He began undergraduate studies in 1977 at Ahmadu Bello University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1980.

In 1981, Aliero got a job as an administrative officer at the College of Education in Sokoto. In the same year, he joined the Nigeria Customs and Excise Service. In 1997, he resigned from the Customs and Excise Service and started a private business, dealing in export and import trade.

Muhammad Adamu Aliero became the governor of Kebbi State from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007 under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was also the Senator that represented Kebbi Central from June 5, 2007 till December 18, 2008.

In December 2008, former president Umaru Musa Yar?Adua appointed Aliero as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, an office he held until March 2010 when former President Goodluck Jonathan became the Acting president.

Muhammad Adamu Aliero is married and is the father of ten children.
