Omawumi Megbele (Omawumi) was born on April 13, 1982, to Chief Dr. Frank and Mrs., Aya Megbele. She is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and an actress. Omawumi is a native of Warri, Delta
State of Nigeria.

Omawumi?s earliest education was at Nana Primary School. Later she attended College of Education?s Demonstration Secondary School. For her university education, Omawumi, studied law at Ambrose Alli University where she obtained a degree (LL.B) Law, and was eventually called to bar after passing through Nigerian Law School.

Omawumi actually came to lime-light in the year 2007, after her participation in Idol West Africa. In the contest, she came out the first runner-up of the competition due to her strong voice. From that time upwards, she have continued to put-up super appearances on stage with names like TuFace, 9ice, Banky W, P-Square etc. Omawumi also features in home video and television concerts as an actress.

Omawumi met her hubby, Tosin Ibrahim Yusuf way back in 2010 when he was the co-owner of the popular night club, Zamunda in Victoria Island, Lagos. She had a daughter- Emmanuella Kamillah Yusuf for him at United States on June 18, 2011.

However, she got engaged to him in 2014 and they got married at Ikoyi Registry, Lagos State on January 16, 2015.
