Biography
Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al- Makura was born in 1952 in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
He attended Ahmadu Bello University, where he studied Education.
After his University Education and National Youth Service, Umaru Tanko Al- Makura floated a company: Al -Makura Nigeria Limited that engaged in variety of businesses.
On April 26, 2011, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al- Makura, having ventured into politics, was elected the Governor of Nasarawa State.
Again in the 2015 Gubernatorial Elections, he was re-elected as Governor under the platform of the All Progressive Congress(APC).
