MO' Cheddah
Modupe-Oreoluwa Oyeyemi Ola was born on the 16th of October 1990 in
Lagos state and hails from Osun stateIn the year 2008, the Nigerian music industry was introduced to a new musical prodigy: Mo?Cheddah. She grew up in the centre of Lagos, Nigeria, in the hustle and bustle of Fola-Agoro, Akoka (a.k.a. F.A.).
Modupe-Oreoluwa Ola aka Mo?Cheddah is most widely known for her exceptional performance on the song and video of the hit track ?The Finest (Won Beri)?. She is a 19yr old Nigerian entertainer and student of creative arts, who describes herself as a new age young Nigerian woman. In her short time in the music industry, she has distinguished herself and is highly sought after for collaborations by A-List artistes, already featuring on songs with major artistes like M.I, Sasha, Mode9, eLDee, Terry the Rapman and many more.
She has performed at a large number of events and was showcased on the Girl Power 2009 Tour alongside acts like Ashionye and Nikki Laoye; she was also the 2nd place winner with Knighthouse at the Hennessy Artistry 2009 competition, where she competed alongside the likes of Bez and Cobhams Asuquo, Iceprince and Jesse Jagz, Jimmy Flames and Dr Frabz. She has been interviewed by every major print, radio and TV personality and graced the December 2009 cover of True Love Magazine; which also gave out copies of her limited edition 2009 True Christmas CD to their subscribers. She has been hailed as the future of Nigerian music, Nigeria?s new music queen and the swagger diamond by various major music industry players.
Mo'Cheddah is very passionate about Nigeria and being Nigerian and believes that Nigeria has a lot to offer the world. She sees herself as the Nigerian entertainment ambassador to the international community and her vision is to take Nigerian entertainment to the world stage and to showcase the wealth of talent and cultural richness of 'Naija'.
Her major sources of inspiration are God and her late father, who she describes as her biggest fan. She speaks both Yoruba and English fluently and is trying to learn other Nigerian languages. She?s the 4th child in a family of 5 children. She loves fashion (often referred to as a ?fabolous fashionista?) and is involved in causes for youth empowerment and abolishment of child labor. Mo also believes in preserving the environment.
Being one of the few major female acts in this part of the world, Mo?Cheddah, ?Naija?s Hip-pop Princess is ready to take on the world and show off what she's got.
