Amina Namadi Sambo is the wife of the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc., Namadi Sambo. Amina Namadi Sambo is the daughter of Mallam Abdu
Lukat and Hajiya Huwaila Abdu Lukat of the ancient city of Kano, and the third child in a family of eleven.
The early education of Amina Namadi Sambo was at Therbow School, Zaria, from where she proceeded to St. Louis Secondary School, Kano for her secondary education. After her secondary school, Amina Namadi Sambo got admission into Bayero University, Kano, Kano State, where she studied Political Science and obtained her Bachelor?s degree in Political Science. Amina Namadi Sambo also has Diploma in Arabic Language which she obtained from Al-Manar International College.
Amina Namadi Sambo is the Founder, initiator and Chairperson of ?I Care ? Women and Youth Initiative?, a non-governmental organization established with the primary objective of improving the lives and well-being of women, the youth and the less privileged members of the society.
The organization have distributed empowerment tools to 150 groups/associations; provided funds that was distributed to over 40 persons for establishment of small and medium scale ventures; sponsored training of about 400 women and youth in various computer and vocational skills, and facilitated the giving of micro-credit facilities to 140 women and youth.
