Biography
Panshak Henry Zamani popularly known as Ice Prince was born on October 30, 1986. Ice Prince is from Jos, Plateau State. Ice Prince is a Rapper, an Actor and a Songwriter. He attended St. Murumba
College, in Jos Plateau State.
Life was not that rosy for Ice Prince while growing up. He lost his dad in 1999 and his mum that was taking care of him soon died also. He got admission into the University of Jos to study Zoology but had to leave school in his 100 level and focus on his music because of financial constraints as were so difficult and he had to survive.
In 1998, Ice Prince began writing rap songs and started performing them at social events held at his school. However, it was not until 2001 that Ice Prince began going to studios to record. In 2002, he got together with a couple of friends and formed a group called the "Ecomog Squad". They had few performances as a group and split a year later. In 2004, he connected with M.I and Jesse Jagz. That was about the time MI moved back to Nigeria they became friends. Ice Prince, M.I and Jesse Jagz living together and doing shows. Then they moved to Lagos in 2008, and Djinee?s supported them by housing them in his house.
Ice Prince steadily grew in the music industry through hard work and perseverance. He has been featured in many songs by various artiste and has had several collaborations with different artiste. Ice Prince has a record deal with Chocolate City which came out of his affiliation with MI and Jesse Jagz.
Ice Prince has been greatly influenced by musicians like Notorious B.I.G, Rakim, Jay Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, M.I. and Jesse Jagz. Ice Prince?s mentor remains M.I. he sees him not only as a brother but as a friend.
Ice Prince has won many awards. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. His achievements include one Bet Award, one Ghana Music Award, three The Headise Awards from 12 nominations, two Nigeria Entertainment Awards from 6 nominations, and two Channel O Music Video Awards from 7 nominations. Ice Prince rose to fame after releasing "Oleku?, one of Nigeria's most remixed songs of all time.
