Biography of Ordia Clifford, Senator

Ordia Clifford

Ordia Ahimienmona Clifford was born on May 19, 1960 in Usugbenu, Irrua , in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo state.

He had his Secondary Education at Esan Grammer School, Uromi in Edo State and proceeded to Ambrose Alli University (then Bendel State University) in the mid 1980s where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He worked with Shell Petroleum Nigeria Ltd immediately after his National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), He however resigned in 1991 inother to form his own Construction company FFORDIAC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LTD, (which owns the Ffordiac Asphalt Plant in Port Harcourt and Ffordiac Quarry Plant at Okpella), a major player in the construction industry in Nigeria. His construction Company have executed projects for major oil companies and for the federal government.

Prior to getting into the senate, Clifford Ordia was the Chairman of a Federal Board, "Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority". Ordia, has empowered hundreds of Esan, Etsako and Edo people, especially youths. He facilitates their jobs and employment placements, he provides revolving start up loans to some SME entrepreneurs, scholarships to students, and direct interventions to families and communities including two functional Bore Holes projects that he personally funded for his Usugbenu community of Irrua where it is extremely difficult to get water.

In 2007, Clifford Ordia 'lost' the Senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Edo Central Senatorial District in the Senate to Senator Odion Ugbesia.

Clifford Ordia is a believer in the principles of Government as a medium for social engineering and not as a conduit for personal gratification. He is a Marxist who believes that the people come before the policies.. Although Ordia has risen to the peak in his profession but he still remains so humble.

As part of his Social Welfare Programme, Clifford Ordia has given water to many communities in Esanland including two functional bore holes that serve his immediate community at Usugbenu. .

In the 2015 elections however, he contested for and won the Senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Edo Central Senatorial District in the Senate.
