Peter Kumba, a Presenter with African Independent Television(AIT) is an Icon in the field of Journalism. He is an indigene of Benue State, Nigeria.
Peter Kumba has a Diploma in Journalism, a Postgraduate diploma in Management and a Masters Degree in Public administration.
He began his career in Journalism in 1977, when he joined NTA, Markurdi. Over the years, he rose through the ranks until 1995.
In 2004, his experience gathered over the years of acquiring and dispensing knowledge was drafted into the AIT team.
He has presented such reputable programmes as Newshour, AIT News, and Current Affairs among others. He serves as the Deputy Chief News Producer; he edits the news articles, reports and plays the role of a Supervisor.
In an interview he had in June 2015, he was asked to recommended a book and a bonus book for people?s reading pleasure; he recommended- Ibrahim Babangida: The Military, Politics and Power in Nigeria. Peter refers to this book as an impressive biography by Dan Agbese. A quote in the book by Babangida?s principal at Government Secondary School, Bidda. Mr. Skillbeck says, ?He has had a very good academic career and has usually been top of his class and he would be a very good army material?. The rest they say is history. In a review, former Editor of New Nigeria and a business executive, Clem Baiye describes the book as ?absorbing?.
