Funmi Iyanda
Olufunmilola Aduke Iyanda popularly known as Funmi Iyanda was born on July 22, 1971. She is an award-winning broadcaster, journalist, columnist
and blogger. 

Funmi Iyanda attended Herbert Macaulay School in Lagos, Nigeria, and then went to the International School Ibadan and finally University of Ibadan, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography.

After she graduated, Funmi ventured into sports journalism. She covered the 1999 female Football World Cup, the All Africa Games in Zimbabwe, as well as the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games which held in Sydney and Athens. Funmi was a member of the Nigerian Football Association between the years 1995 and 2003.

Funmi later entered into Television presentation which started when she produced and presented Good Morning Nigeria, a breakfast television magazine show. The show was popular for its "Heroes" segment, which uplifted the achievement of the deserving members of the society. She was also the presenter of the T.V show known as the "Street Life", in which she went out on the streets in search of compelling Nigerian human-interest stories.

In the year 2000, Funmi began to produce and host a program called the New Dawn. New Dawn with Funmi ran daily on NTA 10 Lagos. The show became the longest running independently produced show on NTA. The show advocated for the cause of the vulnerable members of the society, with emphasis on women, youth and children. Through New Dawn, "Change-A-Life", a social intervention project was born. This project has affected the lives of many individuals, especially children through offering of scholarship, healthcare, counseling and micro-finance intervention scheme. Its scholarship scheme supported at least 98 children.
Funmi writes regular columns in Tempo Magazine, and  serves as guest columnist for Farafina Magazine, PM NEWS, The Punch, Daily Trust and Vanguard Newspapers.

In the year 2010, Funmi Iyanda produced a three-part documentary called My Country: Nigeria, to celebrate the Nigeria?s 50th anniversary of the independence. The documentary was aired on the BBC World Service. One of the episodes of the documentary called Lagos Stories, was later nominated in the category for ?Best News Documentary? in the 2011 Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco.

In the year 2012, Funmi Iyanda and her creative partner Chris Dada uncovered and made public, a website known as Chopcassava.com. This website is a web series that documented the January 2012 fuel subsidy protests which took place in Lagos, Nigeria. One of the chopcassava videos went viral by gathering over 100,000 hits in five days. Chopcassava.com was eventually nominated in the non-fiction web-series category at the 2012 BANFF World Media Festival, in Alberta, Canada.

In the year 2012, Funmi was honoured by the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, for her commitment to gender advocacy. 

Funmi is a member of the Board of Farafina Trust and Positive Impact Youth Network. She took active part at the Occupy Nigeria series of protests in January 2012, protests organized to resist the implementation of the government's fuel subsidy removal policy.

As hobby, Funmi is a voracious reader. She also, watches movies and supports her favorite football team, Chelsea FC.]
