Alhaji Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar, was born on January 1, 1969.
When Nigeria returned to Democracy in the year 1999, Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar contested for, and
won election as a legislator, to represent Talata Mafara/Anka Federal Constituency in the House of Representative.
On April 26, 2011, Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar was elected Governor of Zamfara State on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
Again in the 2015 Gubernatorial Elections, he was re-elected as Governor under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.(APC).
