Usman Bayero Nafada, Senator representing Gombe North Senatorial District was born in January 1961. He is an indigene of Gombe State.
Usman Bayero Nafada had his Primary Education at Nfada Central Primary School in 1978. He then proceeded to Government Teachers College where he completed his Secondary education in 1984. He holds a Teacher?s Certificate from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State and a degree in accountancy from the University of Maiduguri, Maiduguri, Borno State.
He represented the Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency of Gombe State as a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Prior to his becoming a Senator, Usman Bayero Nafada was a member of the Gombe State House of Assembly for the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) from 1999 until 2003, and held the post of Speaker beginning from June of that tenure. He was also previously the Assistant State Auditor of Gombe State.
Nafada was elected to the national House of Representatives in 2003 as an ANPP candidate for Dukku/Nafada, but later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Usman Bayero however joined the All Progressive Congress prior to the 2015 elections.
The aspiration of a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Usman Bayero Nafada, to become the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Gombe State vanished into thin air following his defeat for the sole ticket of the party in the hands of a former state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, who polled 905 votes to defeat Usman Bayero Nafada and another aspirant, Murtala Aliyu, to the governorship ticket of the party.
