Yemi Alade
Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian Afro pop singer, born on March 13, 1989 in Abia State, Nigeria. Yemi?s father, Mr., James Alade is of Yoruba origin while
her mother Helen Uzoma is an Igbo woman. Yemi is the fifth of seven children begat by her parents. She is a sister to the famous Jessica Ejiofor, who is popularly known as Stelea.

Yem Alade attended St Saviour British Primary School. After her primary education, she attended Victory Grammar School. Yemi studied Geography at the University of Lagos.

After her University education, Yemi ventured formerly into the music industry.  Her talent as a musician came to lime light when she won the Peak Talent Show in the year 2009. She later released her first single titled "Fimisile" under the Jus' Kiddin' label.
She belonged to a group called Noty and made her debut in the year 2005. In 2012, she signed to music label Effyzzie Music Group and consequently released her single "Ghen Ghen Love".

Yemi Alade released the video for her afro-R&B "Bamboo" in July 2013. The video was produced by Fliptyce. "Bamboo" went viral and actually became an anthem for all love and wedding events. Also in the year 2013, Yemi released another hit single titled  "Johnny", produced by Selebobo. The music topped and dominated uncountable music charts across Africa. The song was also listed as one of the best songs of 2013.

Alade was very successful in her music career to the extent that she has shared stage with popular music icons including Mary J. Blige, Shina Peters, M.I, Wizkid, Becca, May D, Waje and Yemi Sax.


Yemi Alade is one of the music personalities that participated in making the theme song of the UNESCO World Book Capital 2014. She teamed-up with M.I. Waje, Timi Dakolo and Burna Boy for the project urging the new generation to read and stay in school at the book capital at Port Harcourt.
