Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed

Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, was born on 29 December, 1963 at Kwara State Nigeria.

Abdulfatah Ahmed?s early school was at Government College Funtua, Katsina State which happened
between 1973 and 1978. Later, he proceeded to the school of Basic Studies of Kwara State College of Technology (now Kwara State Polytechnic), Ilorin. Abdulfatah Ahmed eventually gained admission into University of Ilorin where studied Chemistry and graduated in the year 1986. After his university education, he did his Master Degree in Business Administration, obtaining MBA in 1992.

Abdulfatah Ahmed  got a lecturing job at the Federal College of Arts and Science, Sokoto where he lectured Organic Chemistry between 1986 and 1990. He later left lecturing job and pitched his tent with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc where he worked before moving to other banks, and then back to GTBank.

In the year 2003, under the regime of  Bukola Saraki, Abdulfatah Ahmed was appointed Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development. Later in the year 2009, he held the position of a Commissioner in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

In April 2011, Abdulfatah Ahmed contested for and won election as the Governor of Kwara State under the platform of Peoples? Democratic Party.

However in the 2015 Governorship polls, under the Platform of the All Progressive Congress(APC), he was re-elected for a second term in office.
