Ehigie Uzamere
Ehigie Edobor Uzamere was born May 5, 1955 at Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. He is an indigene of Edo State.

Prior to entering into politics, he was an architect who had not held any political position.

He was elected to the Senate in the 2007 elections to represent Edo south Senatorial district under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was appointed to committees on Security and Intelligence, local and foreign debts, Land Transport, Housing, Downstream Oil and Culture and Tourism.  In May 2008 he was appointed as a member of the National Assembly Joint Committee Constitutional Review (JCCR).

He was also a member of a joint committee of the Senate in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Housing, which investigated the FCT administration between 1999 and 2007, issuing a highly critical report in July 2008.

In June 2008, Edo State election petition tribunal said there had been irregularities in the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the general election of 2007, the Court thereby annulled the election of Senator Ehigie Uzamere, and directed the INEC to carry out a new Senatorial elections in Edo South within 90 days.

After a series of appeals, in June 2009 the Court of Appeal ruled that Uzamere in fact had been duly elected.

In a mid-term evaluation of the performance of senators, ThisDay newspaper said Uzamere had sponsored the Law of Nigerian Communication Commission (Amendment) Act 2009 and the Nigerian Institute of Cost Management Bill, 2008.

In June 2009, Uzamere spoke in favor of the reform of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reduce delays in finalizing election results.
In September 2009, as head of the Senate Committee on Local and foreign debts,

Uzamere supervised the audit of debts contracted by the federal government to local
contractors, which apparently included many "ghosts" debts. It thereafter called for the speedy resolution of the outstanding amounts verified once the audit was completed.

In November 2009, Ehigie Uzamere gave a talk at the opening of an exhibition of Nigerian arts in Stockholm on Benin Civilization and its impact on the contemporary Nigerian politics.
Before the 2011 elections, Uzamere defected to the All Progressive Congress(APC) and successfully ran for re-election to the Edo South Senatorial District. He defeated former Senator Daisy Danjuma.

Due to some issues he had with some big weights at the APC, he again defected back to the PDP in 2014.
