Biography of Salihu Ibrahim Mohammed, Head of Sports, KUFM
Salihu Ibrahim Mohammed was born on June, 22. He hails from Warrake, in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria.
He is a Mass Communications graduate from Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, and award winning sports presenter, producer, reporter, commentator and analyst.
Salihu Ibrahim Mohammed is the Head Of Sports, KUFM Benin City. He produces and presents sports on 92.7, KUFM including Sports Fiesta and Balls Of Fire. His colleagues call him Sports Ibracadabra.
He began his career in broadcasting in 2004 during his NYSC at Gombe Media Corporation, Gombe State where he anchored a sports programme on TV. After service, he joined DAAR Communications PLC, owners of AIT and Raypower in 2005.
He produced and presented the popular Milo World of Sports on Raypower and Sportsfile on AIT between 2006 and 2014. Then he left DAAR Communications for KUFM, Benin City.
He has covered many local and international sports events including the FIFA Under-17 world Cup, African Cup of Nations qualifiers, World Cup and Olympic Games qualifiers among others. He has also been privileged to have had local and international training with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC.
Salihu Ibrahim Mohammed has won some awards in his sojourn in broadcasting including; Best Produced Programme on TV (Sportsfile), 2006 National SWAN Awards, Best Reporter, Radio Category, 2007 Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship, Best TV Journalist, 2012 FCT SWAN Awards and Best Sports Programme on TV (Sportsfile), 2014 Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, NMBA.
