Biography
Theodore Ahamefule Orji was born in the year 1950, and is a native of Amaokwe-Ugba, Umuahia ? Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of AbiaState. Theodore Orji had his secondaryg
education at Santa Crux Secondary School, Olokoro, and Holy Ghost College, Owerri. After his secondary school, Theodore Orji gained admission into University of Ibadan, where he studied English Language and obtained a Bachelor of Art Degree in the year 1977.
After his University education and National Youth Service, Theodore Orji got employed in the Imo State Civil Service as an Administrative Officer. Later he worked at the Ministry of lands and survey, Ministry of Agriculture and the government house.
Upon the creation of the new state, Abia, Theodore Orji returned to AbiaState, his place of origin haven fallen into the new state, where he was employed at the Bureau of Budget and Planning and later at the Ministry of Agriculture. Theodore Orji later joined the National Electoral Commission of Nigeria and worked both in his state and Enugu State.
In the year 2007, Theodore Orji, having joined politics, contested for the position of the governor in Abia State and won. Consequently, Theodore Orji became the governor of Abia State. In April 2011, he won again for the second term as the governor of Abia State.
Theodore Orji has bagged several traditional titles, including Ochendo Ibeku, Utuagbaigwe of Ngwaland, and Ohazurume of Abia South. He is married to Mercy Odochi Orji and they have five children.
Theordore Orji is currently a senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
