Dr. Osagie E. Ehanire is a Medical Doctor and an outstanding surgeon. He an indigene of Edo State in Nigeria. He holds a degree in Medicine from Ludwig Maximillians
University, Munich. He also holds post graduate Diplomas from the Teaching Hospital of the University of Düsseldorf and Essen, Germany in the areas of Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. Dr. Osagie has rendered his services as a member of various medical Boards both within and outside Nigeria. He was Senior Registrar, Clinical Instructor of University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH), a Member of the old Bendel and Edo States Hospital Management Board, Consultant Surgeon, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, Clinical Course instructor, Fracture Internal Fixation course, BG Accident Hospital, Duisburg, Germany.
Osagie E. Ehanire however co-authored the orthopaedic book ?The severely injured limb? edited By John Ackroyd.
Prir to the April 2015 elections, in an interview, Osagie Ehanire who was the Edo State Coordinator of General Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, called on Nigerians to disregard the rumour flying around the country that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, if given the mandate to rule Nigeria will Islamize the country.
Ehanire said detractors were using the rumours to poison the minds of Christians against voting for Buhari who is a devoted Muslim, adding that the Islamization of Nigeria is not achievable.
According to the surgeon, Buhari is an open minded person who is not particular about the religious divide in the country. Ehanire further stated that the APC Presidential Candidate was a man who respects the religious beliefs of others and would not stop others from exercising their faith.
Osagie Ehanire in the interview also noted that the issue about Buhari not having secondary school certificate was being stretched to a point of insanity, stating that the retired General during his days in the military was made to undergo different screening both home and abroad.
In October 2015 he made the list of Ministerial nominees to serve the Buhari led administration after being screened by the National Assembly.
