Biography
Charles Chukwuma Soludo was born on 28th July 1960. He is from Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is an Economics Professor.
Soludo bagged both his first degree, his Masters and his Ph.d at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State. It is noteworthy to state that he came tops at all three levels graduating with a First class Honors at his Bsc.
Soludo is the immediate past Governor and chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) He was appointed Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria on May 29, 2004.
In 2009, Soludo contested for the position of Governor of Anambra State, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, But lost to Peter Obi of All Peoples Grand Alliance, APGA. He however resigned from the PDP in July 2013 and joined APGA in preparation for the 2013 Governorship race but could not make it through the primaries.
Soludo is seen as a very intelligent man, a first Class material in all ramifications. His tenure as the CBN Governor brought a lot of impressive changes to the Nigerian Banking sector.

Soludo bagged both his first degree, his Masters and his Ph.d at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State. It is noteworthy to state that he came tops at all three levels graduating with a First class Honors at his Bsc.
Professor Soludo rose to the position of Professor at University of Nigeria Nsukka and later a visiting Professor at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, US.
Soludo is the immediate past Governor and chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) He was appointed Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria on May 29, 2004.
He has also been a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and other foreign Universities. Soludo has also been a consultant to a number of international organizations like the world bank.
